Community Garden

Coordinator: Melissa Bacigalupa

Located on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande, our community garden is a project that is for the community. We plant, water, and harvest fresh vegetables in the Fall and Spring. If you would like to stay up-to-date on our activities, please follow us on facebook:

Have you experienced the garden labyrinth?
A labyrinth is a place to refelct, look within and pray. The rhythm of walking the path quiets the mind, relaxes the body and refreshes the spirit. Curious and want to know more? Click here: /labyrinth

Past Years in the Garden

2020 was a great year in the garden! With the help of our awesome volunteers we had a successful harvest of tomatoes, onions, watermelon, squash, zucchini, peppers, eggplants, okra and cucumbers!

In March members of AmeriCorps VISTA helped install the in-ground automated irrigation system and in December volunteers began construction on a labyrinth for the meditative area, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2021.

2019 marked a very successful first year for the garden in its new location on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church. With help from volunteers we harvested two types of tomatoes, corn, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, bell peppers, arugula, romaine, swiss chard, lettuce, and tons of squash and zucchini. In the spring, volunteers also built the beautiful pergola on the South side of the garden.
