Seeds of Hope provides structured after-school and summer programming aimed at impacting the attitudes and behaviors of youth. Tutoring, mentoring, character building, reward, and recognition for pro-social actions are used to successfully avoid problem behavior.
The after-school program follows the school district calendar running August through May and consists of snacks, crafts, organized games, and a focus on literacy. Daily reading and comprehension assignments help to reinforce what is being learned at school. It is our goal to equip each child with the skills needed to read on his or her grade level.
During the summer, the center is open three mornings a week and offers a safe environment where children engage in constructive play and supervised activities. Field trips to places such as Castles and Coasters, Botanical Gardens, Picacho Peak, and Harkins theater are offered at no cost to the children.
Because of generous donations from community
members, churches and businesses, Seeds of Hope is able to offer this year round program free of charge.
