E-mail Hot Lunch for the Homeless

Hunger and homelessness persist in Casa Grande, despite our community's growth and change. The hungry include severely impoverished families and individuals, and families or individuals who are unemployed.

The Hot Lunch Program provides a hot meal six days a week. Although the meal is free, each diner is asked to provide a service back to the program. Participants help with setting the tables, cleaning up, assisting those who need help, etc. This approach allows them to maintain their dignity, become invested into the success of the program, as well as the important experience of serving others.

The staff advocates for the needs of the participants throughout the community, assisting them in accessing services such as detoxification, substance abuse treatment, and re- ferral to DES services. The ultimate goal is to help each participant improve their level of self-sufficiency.

The Hot Lunch Program operates with volunteers.  From picking up food in Phoenix to signing participants in and plating food, these individuals keep it going.  If you would like to know how you can be a volunteer, contact the administrative office.
